Over 200 musicians took part in the joint YSO/PCEP Choirs 2008 Holiday Concerts.
The YSO was pleased to continue its partnership with Sphinx Music, in featuring Sphinx Competition winner Gareth Johnson on its season opening concert. Gareth’s performance was stunning (listen to the recording here), and he proved to be a gracious and charming guest.
On December 13, the YSO collaborated for the first time with the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Choirs. The groups performed a matinee and evening concert featuring music of John Rutter and seasonal tunes. The concerts were well attended by an audience of over 1,500 people. The YSO is grateful to its Music Director Adam C. Riccinto, Ms. Jennifer Kopp, Music Director of the PCEP choirs, and the PCEP boosters, for the planning and execution of this combined event. Thanks also the YSO musicians, and the PCEP choir members, for their great preparation prior to the concert, and their focus and stamina during a long day on December 13!
