The Ypsilanti Symphony Orchestra is committed to educating the community on the value and joy of classical music.
As children are the future of our community, the YSO recognizes the opportunity to inspire children to learn about and enjoy classical music. In this end, the YSO decicates one of its regular season concerts to the children of the Ypsilanti area. The children's concert program is designed to educate and excite our little ones with first class performances and an interactive format.
We are also very happy to offer an annual Concerto Competition. Any classical performer under the age of 18 in the Ypsilanti area is eligible to compete in the competition. The winner of the competition is then eligible to perform his or her piece with the orchestra at the children's concert.
